On the 4th July 2020, 15,000 people took to the streets of Manchester City Centre to protest injustice and stand together for racial equality. Sparked by the unlawful murder of George Floyd, people across the world took to the streets to protest police brutality and racism. There has been a call to defund and / or reform the police in the US. Statistically speaking, Black people in the US make up just 13.4% of the population yet equate to 23.4% of “fatal police shootings” according the US census bureau. The treatment of black people not just in the US but across the globe is deplorable; inequality does not belong within society.
